Routines tend to bring us comfort and blessing because they are a safeguard for our young children who developmentally need consistency and clarity. I hear all the time how excited parents are for the routine to come back in the Fall. As you’re considering the routine for your household this Fall, I would encourage you to consider how you and your family incorporate faith practices in your home. Do you pray together at certain times, do you read scripture together, does the regular discipline in your home include words of forgiveness? What about your weekend routine? Does it include Worship and Bible Study on Sunday morning or one over the other? As your residence DCE’s, Liz and I are happy and eager to help you feel prepared and ready to lead your homes with faith at the center. It won’t be perfect, but it’ll be Christ-centered! Back to School Blessing

      Join us Sunday, August 16th at all services. Students and educators will receive a blessing to kick off the school year with Christ and receive a small gift to go home with them.

 

Move-Up Day!

• Move-up day for new 6th graders: Wednesday, September 9th

• Move-up day for new freshman: Wednesday, August 26th (at Ken Tucker’s Backyard Fire Pit)

 

High School Connect (9th-12th grade)

      Meets every Wednesday, starting at 6:30pm. Friends are always welcome! Students should connect to our GroupMe chat group to stay up to date on the latest schedules, events, and just to connect with one another! Use the QR Code on the slat wall to join!

• S’mores at the Tuckers - August 26th, 7-9pm. Incoming Freshman-Seniors, join us at Ken and Kelli Tucker’s house (address in email or from  directory). Bring your lawn chair, yard game, and favorite s’more’s toppings (I’ll bring some regular s’more ingredients).

 

Middle School Connect (6th-8th grade)

• Parents & Student Ice Cream Social - August 23rd, from 2-3:30pm. Let’s kick off the Fall with ice cream and introductions. You’ll meet the Middle School Mentor team, find out about the year for your student, and get a taste of Wednesday night youth group.

 

CONFIRMATION

      Fall registration & schedule will be available at the Ice Cream Social. High School students finishing up classes will receive an email with an updated schedule.

• Parent/Student Orientation Meeting on Aug. 24th:

  • 6th Graders/Parents: 1:30pm in Worship Center

  • 7th-8th Graders/Parents: 2:30pm in Worship Center

  • New Schedule available at the Aug. meeting

• 9:20 Sunday Bible Study (For 6th-12th grade)

  • Based off Nehemiah 9:20, students are welcome to join us for Bible Study every Sunday morning.
